The Library is proud to announce the launch of the new and improved Justices of Texas 1836-1986 website. We have updated the look and feel, streamlined the navigation, and simplified the search interface.
The Justices of Texas 1836-1986 website is a digital library that describes the 160 individuals who, as members of the Texas Supreme Court and the Texas Court of Criminal Appeals from 1836-1986, shaped the rights of Texas citizens. The site includes, for each justice, a portrait, a biography, citations to opinions, and links to resources with additional information, such as constitutional provisions that those opinions interpret. There are a few justices we have been unable to locate portraits for; if you can help us find appropriate images, please contact rarebooks@law.utexas.edu .
We hope Texas history enthusiasts and legal researchers enjoy the improved site, and are inspired to explore our other digital collections as well.
