Stormy Weather :P
Hey everyone, this is Eric again!

And Sheriff Woody too!
Today is Thursday again, and it is my 19th day at UT Austin (No way! I just got an email saying that we get free on demand movies if we’re on campus! Sweet!) . I have been finally getting into the drift of things, although studying is a little difficult to get used to. It was never necessary in high school, but I won’t be able to escape it here in college. I wish I was more like my friend Noor; she practically memorizes every word in her textbooks. Anyway, this week was good, especially the weekend. My parents and sister came to visit over Labor Day and I was able to give them the “Eric tour.” They’re not very much used to the ton of walking we do on campus, so I had to shorten my tour and show them the boring places they cared about, like where I washed my clothes, where I ate and some more boring stuff. My parents only stayed for a week, but my sister was here for the entire weekend (she had to visit infamous 6th Street, of course). They also brought me a lot of Mexican candy from my mom’s recent trip to Mexico, so you can guess what my meals have consisted of.
The start of the week was an interesting one. Tuesday morning was terrible, with the huge tropical storm flying over us and everything. I had to go to my first class without an umbrella (ella eh eh. Haha just kidding). Getting on the shuttle would’ve been a good idea but I didn’t think about it then, so I did my best at covering myself with a newspaper which tore half way to class. Lucky for me, I was able to buy an umbrella after class when the storm wasn’t as bad. As the day wore on, the storm got stronger. I was afraid to go outside for anything, but I had to go to class. The winds were too strong; everywhere I looked I saw broken umbrellas, turned inside out by the winds. It happened to me too, it was terrible! My umbrella broke! But it’s okay, I got to buy an orange umbrella!
It didn’t rain much the next day, but there were a lot of puddles everywhere. The most cliché thing happened to me that day, it one of those car-dives-by-and-splashes-you sort of thing. It was awful! It was also very humid all from Tuesday till today, I walked outside and my glasses fogged up. Classes have been going great, I’ve gotten the drift of how my Calculus professor teaches, and now I understand! I’ve had a lot of homework, but I’ve gone cold turkey on procrastination since leaving high school, so I haven’t been rushing at all. All classes seem to be going good. I don’t know what I was worried about just last week.
I have also been getting A LOT of emails lately. I remember back in high school, the maximum amount of emails I would get a day would be like two. Now in college, I get about ten emails a day! A part of those are from FaceBook of course, but it’s still a lot! I try to at least scan them all, because sometimes they have good news (like free on demand movies!). I wonder how my mailbox would look if we didn’t have email, and all was sent through snail mail…
Well I had lots of notes of what I would write for my blog today, but I lost them all! So I guess that’s all for this time, until next Thursday!
Haha you know what’s weird? In both pictures, I’m wearing the same t-shirt.
