Engineers Collapse 120-foot Bridge to Study Behavior, Safety

Engineers at the Ferguson Structural Engineering Laboratory successfully collapsed a 120-foot bridge with an intentionally fractured girder. CTR Annual Symposium 2009

UT’s Center for Transportation Research hosted its annual symposium on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. The theme of this year’s symposium was “Back to Basics.” CTR researchers addressed the future pavement and bridge needs in 2030, TxDOT revenue and expenditure trends, vehicle operating costs, stormwater quality improvements, and concrete durability.
