Joe Yura inducted into the Academy of Distinguished Alumni at UT Austin (from FSEL)

President Obama Signs Executive Order Banning Federal Employees from Texting While Driving (from ABC News)

President Obama banned federal employees from text-messaging while on government business, driving government vehicles or using government equipment. The executive order also directs executive departments and agencies to encourage contractors and contractor employees to adopt and enforce policies to ban texting while driving on official government business.

The International Sustainable World (Engineering, Energy & Environment) Project Olympiad (I-SWEEEP)

CTR Annual Symposium 2009

UT’s Center for Transportation Research hosted its annual symposium on Wednesday, April 8, 2009. The theme of this year’s symposium was “Back to Basics.” CTR researchers addressed the future pavement and bridge needs in 2030, TxDOT revenue and expenditure trends, vehicle operating costs, stormwater quality improvements, and concrete durability.
