Ford Backs Ban on Text Messaging by Drivers (from NY Times)

Automakers Ford Motor Company announced 9/10/2009 that it supported bans on text messaging while driving. Ford offers a product called Ford Sync that, among other features, will read text messages to drivers.

Drunken driving arrests among women increase as new public health issue emerges (from Pittsburgh Tribune-Review)

Crime reports show DUIs among women are rising in the United States.
A new study by the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration confirmed the FBI statistics showing that impaired driving by women is becoming a national safety issue. Overall, about 2,000 fatalities a year involve an impaired female driver, the study revealed.
