THIRD COAST WORKERS FOR COOPERATION is an Austin-based organization committed to the development and support of green worker cooperatives. Our mission is to help build worker-owned green businesses and strengthen existing democratic workplaces through cooperative business development, education, training and movement building — placing those most directly affected by social and economic inequality at the center of our work.
THIRD COAST WORKERS FOR COOPERATION is undertaking the process of raising funds to support its programs, projects and operations, and is seeking a professional consultant to provide independent fund development services (grant writing) for this effort.
Key responsibilities:
Assist in researching potential grant sources
Adapt current organizational goals, objectives, workplans, and metrics to specific fund sources and RFP’s
Coordinate the writing and submission of grant applications
Assist in the development and updating of the funding strategy and grant matrix
Develop standard application documents
Qualifications:
Experience in grant writing services for non-profit organizations, 3-4 years preferred
Ability to work independently
Knowledge of cooperatives and community economic development preferred
Terms and Compensation:
Pay rate is $40 per hour, for approximately 8 hours per week for 15 weeks beginning in May 2011, with a possibility of renewal based on successful fulfillment of responsibilities.
