On November 2, the President’s Office announced the Ideas of Texas, a new staff idea program. The Ideas of Texas (requires UTEID and password) is an interactive Web site intended to stimulate creative problem solving at the university.
All university employees are eligible to submit ideas to the Web site, which allows faculty and staff to review, common on, and vote ideas up or down. Ideas will be ranked according to reviews and voiting. At the end of each semester, the president and representatives from the colleges and units will evaluate top ideas.
Geoff Leavenworth, special assistant to the president, whose office will manage the site, said “We’re looking for ideas to improve campus life, teaching and research, energy conservation and productivity.”
