Academic Service Learning (ASL) is excited to highlight one of the many ASL classes engaging the community in new and creative ways. The class Living Color: Light, Science, Art, Architecture, & Culture, taught by Professor Nancy Kwallek and Professor Luanne Stovall, will be hosting the third annual Harvest Mandala. The Harvest Mandala is an event that emerged from this class as a way to celebrate the harvest and end hunger in our community. The event is being held on the South Lawn, November 4th from 10 a.m.- 6 p.m., and promises to have a festival-like atmosphere with activities such as, dance, drumming, and art. Bring some canned goods and come join the celebration on November 4th. For more information visit their Web site .
Academic Service Learning classes, like the one described above, provide students with the opportunity to partner academics with community engagement, enhancing the learning experience.
