If you’ve ever been interested in the non-profit sector or just want to get a little inspired, an exciting opportunity is coming up next Thursday, October 29. A Q & A session with George Srour, founder of the nationally-recognized Building Tomorrow, will take place on the UT campus.

Building Tomorrow, Inc. is an Indianapolis-based social-profit organization dedicated to raising awareness and funds to build schools for children in sub-Saharan Africa. Srour, now 26, founded the organization while he was a student at The College of William and Mary, and challenges colleges and universities nationwide to help make education a reality for the children of this region.

Building Tomorrow forms one-to-one partnerships with US colleges and universities and communities in sub-Saharan Africa, with the US students developing extensive campaigns to both raise funding and support educators in this region. There are currently 25 college and university chapters of Building Tomorrow nationwide.

The UT chapter of Building Tomorrow was established by three students from the LBJ school this past spring, and Srour will visit our campus to discuss the organization’s mission, his experiences of starting a non-profit and will take questions from the audience.

The event will be held Thursday, October 29 at 6:30 P.M. in UTC 1.144 and is sponsored by GPAC, Graduate Student Assembly and Student Government.
