With spring break fast approaching, travel plans and road trips are on a lot of people’s minds.

Castlen KennedyOne graduate student, Castlen Kennedy, will be taking a road trip this May, but not just any old road trip. Castlen will be conducting her thesis research by examining natural gas as a transportation fuel by driving a Chevy Tahoe converted to use natural gas from Austin to Boston. Along the way, she will explore the fuel cost savings and environmental benefits of a natural gas vehicle, as well as provide personal insights into the possible challenges a driver of a natural gas vehicle may face. Castlen is pursuing a dual master’s degree in Public Affairs and Energy and Earth Resources at UT Austin. Follow her journey and get inspired to go on your own road trip by visiting the Green American Road Trip.

Here’s a great resource for Castlen and all other grad students who have spring break or summer travel plans:

Download audiobooks to your iPod,  MP3 player, smartphone, or computer using the MyiLibraryAudio application through UT Libraries. Take a break from your usual academic reading material and download the latest fiction, non-fiction, biography, or mystery  title to entertain you over spring break, wherever you may go.

Cool post. I’ll definitely follow her blog for the trip. I actually drove from Boston to Austin in December of 2009 to start my graduate studies at UT this spring. Her trip will be much better (warmer)! Good luck on the trip, Castlen!
