ORIENTATION: As many of you know, Saturday (August 21) is orientation for new students. In order to properly welcome our new classmates to the program, we will be heading over to Dog and Duck after orientation ends at 3pm. We hope that many of you will be able to make it to not only welcome the new members of our program, but also to get together and catch up on summer adventures.
POTLUCK: Dr. Juan Gonzalez, Vice President for Student Affairs, has once again been kind enough to invite everyone over to his house for the famous potluck. Those who attended last year had a great time, and hopefully we can have a good turnout this year. The date for the potluck will be Friday, September 10. An email with details about this event will be sent out in the next couple weeks.
PARTNERSHIPS: This year we are working to partner HEASPA with our two on campus professional associations (APSA and ACA) and the Office of the Dean of Students. We are making great progress on this, and hope that our working with these two organizations and DoS will provide more professional opportunities for students. To that end, we will be co-hosting a happy hour with APSA on Tuesday, September 21 from 5-8 at Austin’s Pizza on the Drag (2324 Guadalupe). Look out for an email about this event closer to the date. For more information on joining these two professional organizations, please visit their websites:
