I was able to finish the Darwin project by Friday, which felt really good since there was no pressure to finish by the deadline on Sunday. This was also easier since I got to work by myself, so I could choose whenever I wanted to work on the project instead of having to plan when to work on it with someone else.
Hopefully the last project will go as smoothly as Darwin did. It’s really close to the end of the semester, and all my other classes are going to start giving out final projects, homeworks, and exams. It will be a busy last couple of weeks, and hopefully everything will work out. Everything is always about time these days, which is why I can’t wait for break. I’m starting to realize why they call it “a break”. A break from all the hectic college life.

I just finished working on the project, so I’m finishing up my work for the day with this post.
I’ve worked on the project for about 7 hours over the past two days, and it’s gone (mostly) very smoothly. I’m finished with all the provided test cases, except for the one where we make our own creature. I still have to put some thought into what would make a creature better than the rover.
It’s really relieving to nearly be done with the project already, because next weekend I would have been too busy to complete it in time. I still have a little more to do for it, but it should be completely finished with little time.
Competition for gymnastics this Saturday, so I hope this week goes as well as last. It could be a busy one, and not because of school. Until then, gotta focus on the present.
Also took up vegetarianism for a few weeks, heard it provides a lot more energy. Gonna do it and see how I feel after two weeks. Just a side note, hoping it won’t affect my performance in school or gym.

I missed this post last week, so I’m going to discuss this past week in this post, and in my post for today (11-8-09), I will discuss what I’ve accomplished over the past few days and my expectations for this coming week.
Over the week, I have had a lot less homework in all my classes, and I have been able to focus on classes much better. As a result, my grades on quizzes have gotten a little better, and I feel much more productive. It’s been great so far, and hopefully it will continue.
First hearing about project 7, I automatically assured myself it would be an easy one to complete for me, so I decided to make it my single-person project. I decided I would be doing it alone, and that I would work on it this weekend. It seemed simple, although the UML seemed like a little extra dirty busy work (even thought it’s supposed to help out with our design, of course).
By the weekend, I was still refreshed and ready to start on the project.

Wow!! I am very surprised by and pleased with my Test 2 grade! It really helps with the confidence, and makes me think that I can get a lot more accomplished over the last several weeks that we have left. Hopefully this will really push me to work on my coding technique for the last few projects, and to better absorb the material in lectures.
I’m a little concerned about the iterator project (because it seems a little time consuming), but I have no worries that a working solution will be reached.
Midterm in OS this week, along with a project in OS due that same night. Could be a rough week, but starting off well already. Let’s keep it going.

Not to sound like a baby, but that test killed me. School is swamping me this semester, I don’t understand how it got so much significantly harder all of a sudden.
Hate to say it, but I’m really starting to not care. I’ll do the best I can the rest of the way out, but if this school schedule gets any worse next semester, I won’t be able to do all of this again. It’s too much.

Hello,
I am very curious about Test 2 this Friday. I would like to think that the algorithms will probably be significantly harder, so I’m a bit intimidated (although I have a few ideas on what could show up). I feel good about the test, but I have some studying to do.
It’s a little rough that the project is due the same weekend as the test, but it shouldn’t be too bad. The only hard part about this is that I have another project due the next day in a different class. Horrible timing.
Quizzes will still be quizzes. An average of a 2 or 3 on each quiz kind of sucks, but I can’t really do much about it.

Not much to say in this entry, except that the classes are going just as they always are.
Quizzes are still an average of about a 50. Projects still take up weekends. Nobody said college was easy…wait, yes they did.
Long week. Maybe, just MAYBE, for once the semester will start to get easier instead of harder.
maybe.
No project due next weekend, although I’m sure we’ll start on it this weekend (who knows, it’d be nice to finish it).
That’s about it, ’til next week.
