Spring Workplace Technology Course
I know that the semester is in the busiest time, but I am starting to think about the spring semester. I have been talking with some of my colleagues around the US about how we can design practical, yet meaningfull assignments to prepare our students for the contempory, technology-filled workplace. There are so many workplace practices that are very different from the typical college environment. Our challenge as teachers is to prepare our students for these workplaces even though they can only slighly imagine how they will use communication technologies differently. I think that I will share some comments I have received from former students with my spring class because they provide some clear examples of the changes these junior and seniors will encounter when they graduate. I want to help them to see the value in what they are learning and researching. I’m excited to tackle this challenge.
