Social Media and Organizational Use

It is really fascinating to see how businesses and organizations are using Social Media.  I am attending the UT Social Media Collaborative Bootcamp (via live streaming) and I realize the diversity of messages and needs that people affiliated with UT Austin have.  As an organization, we have so many communication channels that I wonder how people decide which to “follow.”

“… I wonder how people decide which to “follow”. I believe that it is a matter of ‘the squeaky wheel gets greased’ concept. In the the business world those that market the best with their social media accounts are more likely to be followed.
The same is true, to some degree, in an organization such as UT. While your communication channels are not selling in the traditional sense they are attempting to fill a need. The greatest need x the best marketing will get the most followers.
Just my humble opinion. Have a great day.
