The Butler School is very proud to recommend you attend a brilliant and FUN concert project, conceived by flute student Kenzie Slottow, presented by “Classical Reinvention.”  Be there!

Wednesday, April 11, 8pm-midnight

The Butterfly Bar @ The VORTEX, 2307 Manor Rd.

Free parking. Bus route. Beer, wine, and sangria for sale @ Butterfly Bar FREE event!

Disco Classical integrates dance-inspired classical music with deejayed contemporary dance music and Austin live bands. Conceived as a celebration of Austin’s vibrant and adventurous community through motion and music, the live portions of the event feature all kinds of music played by orchestral instruments. Have you ever heard a brass quintet merged with the sounds of a video game? Or a saxophonist playing percussion with his feet and piano with one hand? At the top of each hour you’ll get a classical surprise followed by a healthy helping of popular tunes for your dancing pleasure. Drink, relax, dance, enjoy, make music.

Performances by acclaimed chamber groups…
Bel Cuore Quartet
Skyros Quartet
Plus Austin-based bands…The Magnificent Snails and The Inheritance

…and many Butler School of Music students!

Arrive early and stay late for the complete experience, or check out just a few of the multifarious offerings. And don’t forget to bring your dancing shoes.
