The Minutes from our September 3rd Meeting

We hope everybody is having a good Labor Day weekend! For anyone who missed the last meeting we will post some brief announcements.
(1) We will introduce a new tradition for our meetings. At the end of the meeting we will have two members give concluding remarks (limit 5 min. each remark). This practice is to give a sense of closure to the meeting and to get our members more involved. During our last meeting, Justin Olaguer and Pavel Nitchovski delivered concluding remarks. Along with our weekly email in a couple of days we will also announce the two members who are giving the concluding remarks for this week. During our next meeting we will start taking volunteers for the coming weeks. We will work it out so that everybody gets a chance!
(2) We want UPA meetings to reflect the interests of our members. We encourage you to send us emails about any topic or paper you would like to discuss. Email us at upatexas[at]gmail[dot]com or leave a comment here.
(3) Stay tuned for our future meetings and events. Send us an email if you are not already on the listserv. Also, tell us if you are not able to make the meetings. We will try to work out any events we do so that we could accommodate as many as possible.
