URB 360
This class is only offered in the fall semester.
URB 360 is an internship and service learning course required for all URB majors. In addition to regular attendance of the scheduled class time, students are required to complete a minimum of 90 hours at an URB related internship, and complete a minimum of 10 hours on service learning project(s) during the semester. While students are tasked with finding their own internship and service learning project(s), both are subject to the approval of the instructor of the course.
Ideally, students will have secured an internship prior to the start of the semester. Liberal Arts Career Services has great tools to assist with the internship search. Internships need to be in a public or non-profit agency in the urban studies field so there are numerous options. In the past students have interned for companies such as Capital Metro, Lower Colorado River Authority, Town Lake Trail Foundation, and real estate development firms.
