How do you save energy during a heat wave?
Keeping cool in hot weather usually takes energy – turning up the air conditioner, driving to a swimming spot, and more.  But using more energy can affect the environment, too. Share how you keep from losing your cool.

I have seen a reversal from centralized climate control to more spot cooling. I have seen a marked increase in multi-unit sales of portable air condtiioners as people cool only the rooms they are in and leave the whole-house thermostat off. My household cools the rooms occupied with doors closed, the thermostat off completely and window fans to moderate the rest of the living area.

Some ideas I got from 25 Green Tips were:

1. Install a ceiling fan.
2. Set the setpoint on the thermostat to 76 degrees, so the AC will only kick on when temperatures rise above this.

During a heat wave, maybe set the thermostat setpoint much higher.

I unplug appliances and electronics. Believe it or not, there are many electronic devices and appliances that draw power while they are in off mode. This power drain can add up to a significant amount over a length of time.

Here are the items that you can invest in and receive a tax break:

· Anything else that implements solar electricity

· Solar water heaters, solar electric systems, and geothermal heat pumps are capped at two thousand dollars.
· Wind turbines with a 2008 installation date are capped at four thousand dollars.
· Fuel cells have a cap of five hundred dollars.

Inside the past when I have preordered new Apple products and solutions they’ve generally only arrived on start day in spite of early shipping notices. They appear to get held up at a stage previous to last vacation destination

that’s very true, with energy rates going as high as it is now, it is a good consideration to make and also to control green house emmision.
