This is my second installment in my Great Debate series. My morning group performed their debate between the loyalists and patriots on Tuesday. It was pretty darn wonderful. The arguments were very similar to last week’s debate, but the tone and flavor is very different. Please take a few minutes to view some of their debate and let me know what you think. I am very proud of our 5th Grade Little Longhorn Leaders!

I also created a very short Debate Movie Trailer that gives just a glimpse of what our movies hold. Enjoy!

This is my first installment on our great debates in 5th grade, 2012. We held our first Loyalists v. Patriots debate on Thursday, April 5th. It all started out very polite and the students appeared uncharacteristically shy and reserved. Well, that didn’t last long. As you can see from our iMovie, http://www.utelementary.org/apps/video/watch.jsp?v=28753, both loyalist and patriot tempers flared just as they did in 1776. While our debate has a 21st century flavor, the arguments are the same. You be the judge, which side should win? Our second debate is tomorrow. I will post that video, too, so that you can see how they compare. Thanks for visiting my blog.
Hook’em,
Mary
