Walk4Water and Service Learning

Our 2nd Annual Lil’ Longhorn Walk4Water was a huge success this weekend. Close to 20 kids and 10 adults walked around Ladybird Lake, walking 6 kilometers each carrying 6 liters of water, to raise money for a school in Tanzania. Check out the fun we had by following the link below. Since we live and go to school in the “Live Music Capital of the World”, it was only fitting that we had the Bob Marley Festival and live music serenade us while we walked.

We surpassed our goal of raising $1000 for our sponsor school through the non-profit organization, H2O for Life, to have a rainwater collection system and running water! I am very proud of UT Elementary for pulling together again this year to help another school have clean water.

Hook’em Little Longhorns!
