SXSWedu Sparks a Fire
I admit it. I’m a shameless lover of all things that enhance and enrich good teaching. That is exactly what I found at SXSWedu 2012. I was so fortunate to be invited by We Are Teachers to join a panel of teachers to talk about the apps that we use in the classroom. My recommended apps included Reading Trainer for individual reading fluency, accuracy, and comprehension, Writings and Book Creator, and for all you SS geeks, The Civil War News.
I received so much more than I gave. I was also invited the have dinner and dialogue with the founders of Intentional Futures and other teachers, administrators, marketers, and entrepreneurs. It was, in a word, amazing. We discussed and debated when, how and why to get mobile technology into the hands of teachers. I also got to hear all about the Big History Project from its founder. Check out the following links and let me know your ideas about the use of mobile technology in the classroom.
